7 Pieces of Bridal Beauty Advice You Haven’t Heard Already

By now, you’ve probably read all sorts of bridal beauty advice when it comes to wedding day beauty.  Things like, always make sure to have a hair and makeup trial and never get a spray tan the morning of your big day.

But while these tips are often shared (and for good reason—they’re important!) there are some other key pieces of bridal beauty advice that are often overlooked. Before you get set to walk up that aisle, be sure to keep the following seven pearls of beauty wisdom in mind.

Go HD

It’s not just TVs that are going HD these days—your makeup is, too! HD makeup provides a super flawless look that can smooth even problem skin.   And the results look amazing in photos. During your trial, ask your makeup artist to use HD foundation so you can see if you like the feel and look. (Graftobian is my personal favorite and typically only beauty pros have it.) If you chose not to use HD, for whatever reason, Dior Airflash spray foundation is a great alternative—it’s light and easy to apply but gives good coverage.

Make sure you have no allergies to eyelash glue

This nugget of bridal beauty advice is critical:  You only want to have happy tears on your wedding day.  Not ones caused by your false lashes. Refrain from having intense treatments

Even if you’re not hypersensitive, don’t wax or pluck your eyebrows within a 24-48 hour period prior to the wedding. You just never know how you might react. Especially if your esthetician uses a new wax or accidentally leaves it on too long. The same goes for spa treatments—go with a Swedish massage rather than the deep tissue. You don’t want sore muscles on your big day from too harsh hands.

Make sure all of your brushes are clean

You may consider providing your own brushes to your makeup artist for your big day. This is a great idea—as long as your brushes have been well-cleaned, of course!

Buy fresh products

Your wedding is the perfect occasion to buy and use fresh favorite products. But beware: Trying out new products on the day of is dangerous. (That is, unless you typically don’t have a full regimen and your wedding is one day you are stepping it up!) At the very least, you’ll want to buy a fresh lip gloss and have your maid of honor hold onto it for you so you look gorgeous in all of your photographs.

Bring a fan

You want to have your makeup done in a well-ventilated area so you don’t perspire or overheat. If wherever you’re getting ready doesn’t have air conditioning or ample circulation, invest in a fan to keep you cool.

Make group hair and makeup an easy task

One of the more challenging parts of wrangling your wedding party is scheduling day-of hair and makeup.
